Chequers have a large garden which gets the sun. There are plenty of spaced-out tables.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff.
It was the first week of... read more opening for service outside following the easing of winter corona virus restrictions. Tables were disinfected after each set of customers.
They had a limited menu the day we went. We both selected fish and chips (£13.50 I think). The food came very quickly, was a generous portion size and was delicious. It was served in a cardboard takeaway box (I think for corona virus reasons).
Highly recommended and will definitely go back.OrdinaryMidlifeWoman

My dad and I were happened upon this pub by chance on a quiet Monday afternoon by accident. It was like something out of the film “The Holiday”, the interior... read more was cosy and beautiful, the Christmas decorations and candles were perfect, there is lots of...stone and wooden beams and log fires to add to the atmosphere. The waitress who served us was so lovely, kind and helpful, we had the chicken burger in panko breadcrumbs with sweet chilli sauce, and cheeseburger which were both absolutely delicious and served with hand cut chips and purple cabbage slaw. We both said we didn’t want the meal to end and we will most certainly be coming back soon! More

Haven’t visited this pub for at least 3 years and we were looking for a last minute booking for bank holiday Sunday roast.
We were incredibly well looked after... read more including our dog Bonnie. Service was super friendly and attentive.
We ordered 3 roast dinners, using meat from nearby Chart Farm. They were extremely good, perfect Yorkshire pud and roasties and a good selection of sides including Red cabbage, carrot and swede mash and tender stem broccoli.
Fairly priced for the area and far superior than roasts offered elsewhere.
We will be back. Thank you.JaneA1085

So this year I decided to treat my old dear to a take away and stubbled across the Chequers Inn offer on Facebook. Firstly the Ham Ribollita was stunning and... read more amazingly still hot when we arrived home. Then came the pork belly, kept warm sitting in the oven but didn’t last long once it hit the plate. The pork belly just fell apart no need for a fork and tasted superb as well as the crisp crackling on the top. Lastly the apricot crumble and custard a proper family favourite that went down like a family box of Kit Kat’s at a weight watchers meeting. This was all delivered to us boxed and ready to go (with instructions) in the car park by one of the rather handsome looking chefs. Very quick and easy process and very covid secure including payment would defiantly recommend for takeaways and can’t wait for the full experience once Boris let’s us back in pubs. All in all a stunning experience, even if I have now set my mother’s expectations too high for next year. I would love to have taken pictures to showcase this treat, but being a somewhat overweight gentleman myself self restrained isn’t something I’m blessed with and before I knew it I’d snuffled down this buffet.
